It's an original song made by the same guy that made the map (Mark 'Bar-B-Q' Klem)... After AQ2 he went on to making maps and music for the q3 (now ET) mod urban terror, I think he's still on that team. I got a link to a page where he hosted more of his music (years ago) but I can't find the link an...

You can compile the .map without any editor at all. You can just run the compilers from the command line since they are .exe files. Then again, given that we now apparently live in the GUI age, you can also download q2beaver and use that. q2beaver is a frontend for the compilers that allows you to s...

Thanks NRG, your tutorial did give me hints that helped me successfully compile apr 1.211! It did take a bit of tweaking, and had to dig around for some extra packages and such, but it works. The only issue I have left is an audio problem. The audio sounds like shit. When compiled with or without O...

I don't doubt it. I've found several tutorials in my efforts that explain how to install aq2/q2 on Linux distros, but none of them discuss 64-bit support. :( 64-bit quake2 works like a charm thanks to Maniac. I've been running aprq2 in 64-bit mode for the last year or so. As for tutorials I've writ...

Yep, there are more jumps on each map. But now I try to jump the jumps Ive never seen before myself..like my own invention:P If you have made the jumps yourself without seeing my videos im impressed:) heh, I made the map you know. I probably put in more jumping hours on the map before it was even r...

Nice :) I think that you got all but one of the ones that I designed into industrial, plus two that I knew about but weren't intentional, plus one that I've never seen before :) (the one via the open door into the tunnel). The one you missed is an edgejump from the ground up onto the ledge by the tw...

Is this really the case? That r1q2 can't record MVDs? quake2 has always been able to record server side demos (or mvds) the problem is that there has not been a way to play back those recordings

Multi View Demo.

Or with other words a demo recorded by the server that enables you to spectate all and any players, from any POV. It would be great fun, and would also eliminate the need to ask players for demos after a match. You would just download the MVD, and switch to their view.

For players, well if you consider this hard to do..putting a dll in your q2 dir if you run windows. Then I suggest those people buy an xbox or playstation and go play these. Because to not be able to put a simple .dll in a dir means you have totaly no knowhow about computers. This isn't the whole s...

But you agreed on the fact that it makes it harder to cheat. So in one way or another it's preventing the 'basic' player from cheating, isn't it? I hope so, otherwize I really don't see what you're doing here. I mean, I haven't seen the code, and I haven't seen r1ch joining the discussion, and do r...

To use your aeronautical analogy it's more like not letting some people on the plane just because they cannot prove they don't bring bombs, because they aren't allowed to use the x-ray machine. This while others may just walk past the x-ray machine onto the plane carrying whatever just because a gu...

Please note that basically what Mister GizeR is saying, is that he's a cheat and should stick to making beautiful trees in maps. Yes, that's me, or at least that's what I bet I'll hear when I stand in the same line where all the cheaters have been forced to go... Because this is what this system wi...

so basically what you're saying nrgizer. Since anticheat isn't 100% waterproof with the exceptions, we shouldn't be using anticheat at all, and just use nothing at all? Isn't this a bit of a weird reasoning? It's like saying....a plane doesn't need backup systems, because these also can fail. So we...

Did I say you had to download and use it? I stated 2 possibilities: ask an admin for an exception or download it. And I didn't even mention buying it. Wether it's a crappy OS or not is actually quite debatable (and subjective), but not a matter to be discussed here. That's just my point, warez isn'...

Oh, and having an unsupported OS is really no excuse: you can ask the server admins for an exception, and if you just buy a supported Windows version for personal use, the police really won't come knocking at your door. Trust me. And as a bonus, you get to run tons of wonderful stuff, like Freecell...
