Weird Lag - i'll post porn when issue is solved!
Alright, i have 150 fps and normally my netgraph is good. When i jump on my own server or when i spectate.
But whenever i open fire at someone, or just stand close to someone opening fire - i get HUGE lag spikes. I can't even move sometimes. I don't even know what this is caused by - the internet or the computer.
My guess is it's the computer, since the internet shouldn't really worry if someone fired or not - and this is why i tried to install the newest drivers for my gfx card (radeon 9500). But it still doesn't work, and it's driving me crazy.
does ANYBODY know what this could be caused by and how to fix it?!
ps. it's the same with both axion (axion.exe) and apr (aq2.exe) ...

Maybe knowing how did it come and after what would help, but you could maybe try some client options.
Try setting cl_maxpackets 50 and check your rate value, should be over 9000 or something.
EDIT: Oh, maybe the llsounds. No idea where they were, google a bit for them if you are missing 'em.

i had the same problem witht he new ATI driver (i have ATi 9600) so i guess the solution is the same.
i installed the driver that came with the card - and i was back to 250+ fps all the time.
just write to me on IRC you know where to find me and ill send it.

The force is with you young Skywalker, But you are not a Jedi Yet
Setting off the virtual sync. removes the limit of your FPS to the refresh rate of your monitor. You might experience some "choppy" image, like if the image "jumps" in horizontal pans, but I've noticed that if you cap your FPS to a multiple of the Hz of your monitor (f.ex., a monitor with a refresh rate of 85Hz won't (or will in a lesser rate) "chop" the image at 170 capped FPS).
You gotta try what's better for you.
