Just woke up, browsed around in a drowsy condition, landing on http://koti.mbnet.fi/warjo/pr0/ and reading there that yet another tournament/cup has been made in & for the Finnish community.

I'm sorry, but isn't there any person, soul or being that can tell & update about it on AQ2world.com as well? Or atleast notify any of the non Finnish admins or 'important' people who run the site here to make some sort of news item about those events?

Believe me, I'm delighted that people like Caracol, fuct, Asskicker, Clown etc are very dominant in most forum articles keeping things alive but I (and most others active AQ2 people) do like to be updated about any tournament events as well, even if it's only for .fi clans.

The Finnish community & tournament organisers there aren't entirely ruled by ignorant .fi kiddies who look no further than their own .fi noses I hope? It would be nice (as being in a non .fi clan) to be considered a part in this gaming shit and have the chance to take it to other levels in the form of tournaments since the most (or only) active part is located in Finland. Even playing two times on a Finnish server would be an option most foreign clans are willing to live with.

So, any chance to let the foreigners in about it? Or should we just give up and join a .fi clan in order to get "accepted"?

Yes, this is a cry for more tournament activity! People with enough free time -> do something?

Of course it would be nice, but I can understand them completely if they want to avoid the typical complaining that comes with twice in a Finnish server and all that yadda yadda. And they don't actually need more clans, I suppose, and then I fear that it's more than obvious that inviting foreigners will bring at least one beanbrain moaning the shit out of the contest. If I was a fin, I would most likely be in a sauna, instead of freezing my ass playing PC, but if I in spite of that, would play, I wouldn't like getting my .fi nose screwed up and down by west europeans and retarded germans.

I think it's up to the ones looking for cups to get in contact with fins and trying to get a place in the eighty-ping slaughterhouse. Public ad is just a bait.

why not make a tournament for all nationalites...
i think you need the best from each country to make the best tournament.
like cott, now im talking about those countries which actually can play on the same server, .se .dk .fi .nl .no .de etc.

We have Finnish members of the team, but I don't know who adds what to the website now. I think me, Asskicker and fuct are only really part of the 'Forum Team'. While we probably have access to the main site, it's not something we generally look to update.

I agree, even if it is a .fi only competition, some sort of news post about it might be appropriate since this is AQ2World. I'm not going to offer any excuses as to why our website seldom gets updated, but I'm pretty sure you all have the idea anyway.

I'm also not going to get into the argument of why they like to keep it .fi only, as it has been discussed to death. Whether we like it or not, I don't see things on that front changing.

There's also a Portuguese League undergoing with a final prize of a private server for the winner clan rotating then for the next year's winner. Altho in portuguese, all the info under http://portugal.aq2world.com/liga
Try to contact admins responsible forthat league and check availability for something more european (at least)!

I didn't even think of the possibility that non-Finnish people would be interested in a cup that's for Finnish clans only. And I think most Finnish players think alike, and that's also the reason no one posts anything here concerning .fi only cups.

I thought posting here about a cup like that would probably just create another Finland vs World-fight.. but if some people are sincerely just interested in different cups, even though they couldn't participate, then I see no reason why not to post here (except forgetting to do that). But I also think that should be up for the cup admins to do.

I'd be more than happy to play in an international cup, maybe even happier than playing in a .fi only cup, but I don't have the time and interest to arrange something like that so I voted for the 3rd alternative.
