Seems like the increase in forum activity and the growth of the community has also brought some bad plums. This thread is getting ridiculous.

I think I'm speaking for a lot of finnish players when saying that zeriif is one of the finnish dudes that just don't know when to shut up.. And just to let you know, he's been banned from the finnish weekly tournament and sometimes in #aq2suomi, channel of the finnish portal :P

The main reason why Finnish clans like to play .fi only is because usually there is much less inane mm1 flood and whine (from both sides). In my experiences, when playing against some unknown foreign clan it almost always results in a shitload of immature whine. Which destroys the fun.

If many foreigners act stupidly, Finns are no better. There are lots of idiots in the Finnish AQ2-scene. Many .fi players ignore foreign clans and act rudely to foreigners only because they are foreign. There are decent people, too - but the idiots are always in the spotlights.

The general Finnish attitude is that ".fi only" matches are simply much easier to arrange. There's no helping to it. If you really want to play against the better behaving .fi clans then you just have to earn a reputation of being a whineless, well-behaving, easy-to-arrange-a-clanmatch kind of opponent.

You wanted to know why we finns refuse to play vs foreign clans so here we go:

We're going to take over the whole aq2scene!1 And below is the plan of action:
1) Refuse to play versus foreign clans [MISSION COMPLETED]
2) Nr.1 will piss you off! [MISSION COMPLETED]
3) We start a huge marketing about AQ2, will be everywhere soon; tv, radio, newspapers, internet, etc...
4) The thing that you can't get a cw will eat you up inside and finally you "shift-del" the quake2 folder and thereby leave the scene
5) After awhile all foreign clans have dissappeared and we are the only ones alive, stronger than ever.

FAQ
- "But why, oh why?"
Simple: we just don't like you fags

- "Can I become a Finn?"
Sure! You probably have to contact you government or something first.

- "Is there anyway we can talk you out of this takeoverplan?"

And to alistair; please don't bring up that crap about racism again. This is a computer game, it's not even comparable to racism. Racism is about humans hating other humans because of their lifestyle/appearence. say what you want, but I don't think real hate is involved in this, it's just two sides throwing an awful lot of shit at each other just to prove their own cause.

would be pretty childish to 'hate' others if they're not from your country. i think that if there were as much quakers in your countries, then you'd gladly play against a clan of your own country, than vs us finns.. it's just a natural thing to favour your own country

This thread is ridiculous.

Reason why I personally refuse to play on non-finnish servers is that my connection sucks... minimum ping of 45 @ finnish servers (min ~70 @ non-finnish servers.)

Edit: No, I've nothing against non-finnish clans. It's just because of this connection.

i can play if everyone accept to play both maps in eDome..
