Those the ones they use in QW?
...So only a server records a demo or something, then you can download it, and when you watch it, you can watch it from the eyes of that player who you want, or you can spec, or do whatever you want.
It seems just like you would be in the server speccing when they played the match and you can follow the game anywhere u want from.?

The server needs to record demos and as a client you ought to download them right from the server and watch them locally. Every player POV is recorded in the .MVD so you can easily switch between players as if you were just spectating the game.

edit: Ahh, Indey, it was you.. well AprQuake needs it :) then the server-binaries (linux of course) will need to record the demos.

There already is Q2pro (but compiles only on windows) which can act as server and client. Have a look.
