If you have latest nVIDIA drivers you should be able to lock hZ:s so you dont need to download a program for it, atleast i did to my cousin, turned vertical sync off and locked hertz, it helped a little

aha. you seem to have the same problem as me. My fps is verticalsynced in quake2 until I do a vid_restart, then I'm upp above the 500s again.

Do you use a different resolution in q2 then normally I wonder then, maybe, although you've set all the correct vsync values for all of your resolutions, it falls short since it is quake2 changing the res.. dunno if that makes sense, I'm a bit tired.

upgrade your forceware to the latest version and turn vsync off and nsync down, ur done
