Has anyone played Jedi Knight II online?
The tourney mode kicks ass, nothing is so kewl than to own the arena for the whole game
And the challenge mode rocks too, I'd like to see that in AQ2
People just jumping around the levels, hoo, i challenge you to a 1on1 sniper fight, HAVE AT YOU
1on1

Along with some suitable (new) maps it would be the best thing ever.
Imagine a map with 10 players in it, all jumping around shooting eachother. They all have the weapons and items they've chosen. If You look at them You can see their names at the bottom of the screen.
Then You spot a player You want to have duel with. You press a button and invite him to a match. When he accepts You both get full health and a countdown starts and all the other players - excluding the opponent - fade away/get transparent/get black skins (and vice versa - You both fade away for others).
Now imagine having several duels taking place on the same map simultaneously - it's not a deathmatch, it's a social gathering shootout.
It's a total rip off from jedi knight 2, but I don't care. That's what I had in mind when I quoted Tactics.

Mod exists
I found a modpack to Aq2 some time ago with many interresting modifications to gameplay. Among the long list of mods I tried out I found this .dll that had all you wished for.
Cheef mentioned this mod too in this thread, I guess...
Deathmatch or teamplay mode with instant respawn. You got to choose weapon and item just like normal teamplay. Never played it much but this is what I know aobut it. It was very intteresting but never gave it time. Too bad no public server is running.
I don't know what the mod is called but I have the modpack and the .dll still. Just get in touch with me and I will give you what you need...
