Are you sure you put the .exe file in the right directory? It should be in X:\Quake2\ (where X:\ is everything before Quake2 dir) and NOT in \action. If you did put it in the right dir, please say what error you get and we might be able to help you.

Are you sure your computer is switched on and you aren't using your microwave as a monitor?
