you can turn on the maptime IF you are using APR client... so
cl_maptime "1" and viola you have time on the screen, cc
This won't be accurate since the timer starts ticking when you open the door ..

to be honnest it wasn't that hard. just learn your way through the chess mace, and its a cake walk if you bother using some time on it.
Only thing that annoys me about this is, some of this isn't that much about skill. How can the chess be skills ? First time i got across i forgot the fùcking button on the other side. Braindead ? maby. Skill based ? maby.
Your idea for this is in general superb. Just needs a bit of brainstorming to improve it. remove some of it, and make it more skill based. I'll prolly ask you for help, because im considering making one myself, and I hope for your inputs.
What you created here is pure genious. I hope others too will build on this. Its short of a revolution to be honnest. It brings a new cool twist to the old action quake.
I salute you Stian Bo Dahl & Anders Evjen. This is pure genious (still needs alot of work to be 10\10 fun)
Hope you two will get together and make a more skillbased one, or even help me develope the one i have ideas for. (will prolly be canceled due to boredom of maping)
Now that i remember, i used to make a map called ghettobird. Was bad shìt. good idea, but still, bad shìt. I really need to learn to make maps.
Its fùcking borring doing them anyways. Cùnts.

The thing you guys did is very nice indeed. Totally agree to what emu said here. This also kinda reminds me of the 'Cube' movies, has a good feeling to it, nice ambiance and good variated 'skill-puzzles' to solve.
Just imagine though.. to make 'teampuzzles' with teams in it.. put a group of Finnish or Slovenian people in a room and let them try to solve it together (with the rule that you can only die once) while trying to reach the next room.. And if you think in 'Cube-style' here then damn, it's so funny, the-jump-around .fi people would get sliced and diced in an instant, jumping around like crazy baboons finding trigger buttons. mehehehe
ok ok back to reality
Anyways I enjoyed doing that rooms stuff, thanks guys

Great innovation indeed.
If you are planning to do more of these, i suggest you do different routes in one room so that one route is faster but requires more skill (jumps etc.) and the other one is easier but slower.
This reminds me a bit of Trackmania, it would be cool if there was a mod for this where the guy that has the best time could be seen in the map so that you can actually compete with a puppet rather than just the numbers.
Keep it up

Congratulations chatode!
You are the first to officially complete Rooms :-D
Impressive time too.
It was fun to see how you did it on the demo.

anyway, great idea, but id also prefer some more actionquakebased rooms
Like throwing knifes.. rotating objects stop if you hit them with a knife e.g.
More tasks reffering to aiming maybe. And the long walk on the "rope" in the 2nd room is just annoying.. esp. before the chessroom

It isnt annoying. It's new and fresh, and it really takes Action Quake 2 up to another level of gameplay. That been said, this is quite possibly the most mindblowing map of all time. If not, one of them.
