Does anyone remember "Dirty Quake"? It was (more or less) a total conversion of AQ2made by a (former?) member of the Ateam.
Unfortunately it changed the whole gameplay of AQ2, so almost nobody wanted to play it, but there were some great features i would have loved to see in AQ2.
e.g. - Akimbo MP5: inaccurate as hell, only useful at extremely close ranges, but you felt like "Steven Segal in "Under Siege""
- akimbo pistols were changed to shoot only one shot when pressing the fire buttom
- you could (slowly) climb up walls. This made you often an easy sniper target, but sometimes it was quite funny to surprise campers with your nice little handgun after climbing up to his hideout
