Erh, why does everyone have their AQ-folder Read only / Skrivebeskyttet :p

That makes it kinda hard for the config.cfg , among other files to save new commands..

..just wondering if there's some special reason?

EDIT:
I'm at school, so I don't remember what my folder is, but I guess it's about 4gb .. due to all the textuers and maps, demos and screenshots.. (gotta rebind my screenshot to screenshotjpg :p )

and I always record.. cuz if I don't, something crazy always happens, and I don't have it recorded, and I get pissed and destroy keyboards.. So I always record.. due to pricy keyboards :p

You can notice it is partially read only. Since there are files you can't write on (dlls, exes, and some others, I suppose).

Yeah, but your textures takes less room since they are seethrough.

Yea... quake 2 directory can be kept at a very low size. If you have quake 2 demo and action quake 2 only... Then it's very low. :)
You can probably tweak it a bit further and figure out what maps you need and don't.

There is mainly one thing that raise the size...demos. But who doesn't want demos? Great to fire up an old game or just an intense cup/league final and watch it together with a cup of coffee.

Hmm..coffee. I need another cup.

If you would be able to see through your textures (like transparent walls), the textures would be lower size, and if they are not exactly the same size as the ones on the server, you will not be able to connect and play on that server (and that is something even you should understand).

Only thing you need is good sounds and great skills, and some.. ...behaviour..

I can, but it's not even funny anymore to have the same jokes all over, all the time, around.. and around. Try something new. :I

Jonte! You do never clean out your demos-directory? You should, people could hack your computer and might be able to also take your demos, and bust you. :I

False and false.

Files with transparency are bigger than ones without (next to the 3 RBG Channels you tranport informations on the 4th one, the alpha channel).
And if server would only accept textures with a certain size, you wouldn't be able to use alternative or even 32bit textures (might be wrong on this point since it's just based on logic - some of our mappers might know more on this).

Ontopic: something ~520 MB
