i was not talking bout all what you wrote on the character skills menagement,which i agree too.
i only say that im not agreeing with this phrase:
"Is there really an incentive to play a better looking game if the skillsystem is still seriously flawed and they are rehashing the same quest-types?" (thats why i quoted only this cut of your post).
if a gameplay is old and you add new cool gfx effects i think thats a big incentive to play it, in my opinion.
just think of rq3: graphics were really good, and the game might even work if they weren't ruining the lovely phisics of aq2.
i was just on graphics and quests side, not mechanical one

I haven't played Morrowind yet, but I guess it's pretty much the same, just that Oblivion got the graphics, and the 'world' perhaps is even bigger, with more quests and so on. I was thinking of playing Morrowind when I'm done with Oblivion. Bought both the same time, hirRr.

When you start - You can head in any direction you like, playing to complete the mainquest, to complete side quests, or wander around fields, mountains and streams exploring at your own pace. As you grow more powerful you'll acquire better weapons, armor and spells to kill monsters, "badguys" and, if you like, innocents.

Oblivion also got guilds, same as Morrowind, as you mentioned - Mages, Fighters, Thieves, and Dark Brotherhood, all have their own unique questlines, not a part of the mainquest (I think.. haven't finished it).

If you're into RPG's, this is the game to play regardless of its flaws, that are different from one person to another anyway. You will find no better. With the right computer spex that is. :)

i`ve played morrowind and oblivion and must say that oblivion is absolutely the BEST of them.
I`m at lvl 26 now and are not even close to finishing the game.
but some days ago my horse got pwned by an stupid ogre and he died so now i`ll have to walk
