i 'think' that everyone who has voted 'NO' is cheating
and he votes no because he doesnt want other people to cheat also. because he would be pwned.

Firstly, the forum post about lazy admins and some random cheater seems to have disappeared, but admins are usually picked on friendship, which makes them likely to be a bit biased decision wise.. after all admins are only human - IMO, most admins are lazy.. very lazy infact while ive played ive not seen an admin kick/ban someone in about 2 years... but this is because aq is dying/dead..
Also most admins will tell you to give them proof when you think you've found a cheater - but actually ask them to tell you what proof IS.. and its a whole new problem over again.
The problem is - there is no such thing as proof untill an application is built to litterally tell the other users "THIS PERSON IS HAX" (like nocheat used to), once that happens people could tell instantly who was cheating.. Since the release of the q2 source, aq is losing the battle against cheating. Mainly, the problem exists because noone will spend the time to actually create a new client/server for anticheating (but people like apr will go ahead and make WinQuake2Amp, edit jump distances etc etc), just one more nocheat release would have worked.. we have the talent in the community to actually release a new system of anticheating, but how many admins do you know who would put such a project together?stopping people cheating isn't quite the same as setting up a league that fails every year is it. (lazy admins like I said)
Back to the point though - who is going to actually sit there nowadays to 'hack' another nocheat client? Q2 has died - you think that the people who made the hacks came from 'AQ2' ? no.. they came from just the root of the game.. Q2. I seriously think that a new anticheating system would solve so many problems now that noone plays q2 anymore.
Anyway thats just my 2 cents.

When nocheat was being developed, q2 was seen as a "dead game" in the eyes of most people i'd guess and it still got cracked quite quickly. My point being, as long as there are players, there will be cheaters.

All im trying to get across is that there are so many things as a community we could do to change this, but instead - you all come onto a website to flame eachother about cheaters. The process for banning people also is so stupid:

... X was caught cheating
... X was proven to be cheating
... X was kicked/banned
... X reconnects, hits his tild key - types name Y - and reconnects later.
