I'm for the "lol he cheats haxx" option, but maybe he is really a very good player, that listens like a god to the steps and aims to the wall hiding the laser... but I'm too lazy to check if that could be a valid option.
Although I think I'd act same as L0ki does, but I'm no believer in that principle.
