Martial Artists / Budokas?

I often hear people complaining about the ineffectiveness of some Martial Arts techniques in a real fight, since they're even hard to apply on the Dojo to the training partner. Why is that?
The first thing is improper technique, and this includes footwork (sabaaki), distance (maai), and rythym (ritsudo).
The second thing is your opponent (while training) knows what you are going to do! It is easy for him to stop a technique from working. In reality will your opponent know what you are going to do in a fight, I don't think so!
Third, when we train it is like stop action, where you can see all the holes and weaknesses of any technique. Now this becomes very difficult when I attack you and apply techniques for real. I don't tell you what's going to happen, I strike and tear at kyushu (weak points of the body), I use all my skill to prevent you from hurting me and I will cause you pain.
I made this to encourage people to start Martial Arts training, it is very rewarding as you go forward and learn much fascinating things.

every classic and traditional martial art has its flaws.
MMA = best.
I do russian combat myself.
Let get some things straight..
A fight in bar is likely to either A) end within 5-10 seconds cuz u go knockout B) go to the floor where some drunk dude is trying to sit on u or
There is also option C where u smack the bitch up.. but considering u guys play aq2 this option is very unlikely for the most of u.
Both situations A and B kinda suck so let me give u some tips.
- Dont act like a wiseguy.. if u can walk away, walk away...
- Theres no honour or pride in bar fights.. hit him where u can.. eyes, crotch, nose.. whatever... always remember, he wont go easy on u, so dont go easy on him either.
- If u are threatnend, and think it will end up like a fight, dont let him surprise u... suprise him instead.. raise you hands a bit as if u were surrendering and tell him that u dont want to fight.. after that start beating the shit out of him.. because u just said that u didnt wanna fight, his minds will play tricks on him giving u the advantage.
- When in danger, the human body will produce lots of adrenalin to get ready to either fight, or flee. Often i see people get this rush, and the confuse it for fear and totally freeze.. What most people dont know is that adrenalin makes u stronger, and faster.. so next time when u feel this incredible rush, u know that ur on top of ur game to kick ass.

I believe you missunderstood me, and let me get some things straight.
There are many other places than a bar where a fight can occur.. It aint the only (and sometimes not even most common) option.
Ofcourse it's the most pleasant option for both (or all?) participiants if you could just walk away, but sometimes that is not possible.
When you do end up in a situation like this, try to control your mind and not to panic, it's quite easy to trick opponents mind with different things if he (/she?) hasnt trained anything before.
+ I'd like you to point out the biggest flaws you can find in Bujinkan fighting system. Our Sôke Masaaki Hatsumi has been quoted saying: "I dont teach winning or loosing, I teach survival"

about 90% of fights happen in bars and clubs.. nuff said.. its most common by far.
Its not very likely that u get ur arse kicked in the gym, supermarket, movie theater or at home.
Yes maybe if ur 12 and ur on junior high there are some bully's that will try to beat u up, but considering most ppl over here are above that age the most common place for a fight will be at a bar or a club.
You'll be surprised how often people start acting tough, but in fact dont really want to fight. Give them a reason not to fight, and alot of times ur oppenent will gladly accept that.
As for the second part of that text... well... ur kinda stepping my point there
Im not familiar with the name of ur sport, but i did train with my friend who does ninjutsu in Rotterdam... could be the same, i dont know.
Anyway, the way they train there is pretty brutal and effective and will deffinatly prepare u for a fight, and prepare u WELL!

Most common place for fights besides bars are streets and railwaystations etc.
You dont necessarily have to be drunk to get into a fight, you dont find the fight, the fight finds you.
+ Bujinkan is indeed same as Ninjutsu, and it's defenately not sport.
Sport budo and Ninjutsu are way different, in Ninjutsu we improvise weapons from the enviroment and learn to use them effectively, we dont use any strength on the moves, and we turn the strength opponent is using against him.

I agree with u on the streetfights, tho its basicly the same principal.
Problem with streetfights is that its usually groups of lamers who try to pick on or attack an individu.
U better have ur runningshoes on then
Ur sport sounds alot alike mine. sounds nice!
The reason why i said it, is because i got a history with kick and thai boxing.
Back then i thought i could handle myself in a close combat fight pretty well, but the stuff im learning now makes it much more advanced.

pfff dani. when u fight in a bar grab the nearest bottle and smash it over his head. then poke his eyes out with the broken glass. if its not terminator ur fighting, u'll win

i started training when i was 7. dad started teaching me karate, so mostly kicks etc. after a few years we changed to hokutoryu jujutsu(jiujitsu/jujitsu, it's the same). then trained all kinda techniques. dad learned aikido, krav ma ga etc, so we pretty much trained every kinda things. there were no these "newer" arts, atleast in here(mid 90's). then at some point, dad started a club in the town nearby(Kemi). a few years ago we changed to EKJT(European Kyusho Jitsu Tuite). it's pretty much based on manipulating articulations, and using pressurepoints, in real life situations. all the "big names" have been working as cops, doormen, free fighters of something, so it's pretty much the best thing i know, for real life situations. not saying that there's anything wrong with ninjutsu, but this is the thing i would recommend. EKJT is mainly finnish(headquarters in Turku), but anything including pressurepoints, is worth a try
but anyway, i quit cos i had to move away from my home to study in Oulu, but i've moved back. kinda lost my interest, so i think i'll start training taekwando as a sport, cos i'm still pretty flexible, after 10 years of training
i'm glad that i've never been forced to defend myself, but i think i can manage, if i have to. best way to get out a fight is to run, so if you think you might be going down, then get out before it happens.
and try to accept other arts too, it's not like the one you're training is the best there is, cos there's nothing that could handle _any_ situation
