Well I got a Radeon 9600 Pro and now I wanted to install the Catalyst 4.10 drivers. I did that and when I played AQ2 I got 17 fps .
I reinstalled the 4.7 catalyst and got 100+ fps.
How can I solve this? do I need to stay with the 4.7 drivers? Or is it something in my settings?

And why would you want to run old drivers?

funny to see ppl with their probs Mine works like a charm on new drivers

First you try to answer my question instead of asking questions yourself.
The answer is in the first post:
Catalyst 4.10: 17 fps unplayable
Catalyst 4.7: 100+ fps
So what do you think is the stupid answer on your question.

Ok, here is the deal. You have two sets of drivers. One is newer and works. The other is older and doesn't work. You still want to run the older one for no apparent reason. Tell me why you insist on running old drivers and I might try to help.

edit: I just realized that in Radeon's (your?) world, it seems like 4.10 > 4.7

ok to solve your problem, there are like twelvety different threads that talks about radeon not being able to make proper drivers. Anything after 4.8 doesn't seem to work with quake2.

Yes since 4.08 it does this

just downloaded 4.10 and my fps is about 190.
normally it was 800+

nVidia might be a bit on the short performance-wise now, but at least they can make proper drivers.

Install this one and pick Insane FPS, u shoud have some about 160-200 fps on aq2 and 100 on CS:Source =)) Trust me u cant find any better drivers then this one for Radeon cards.
For example before i have a 3200 in 3d Mark5, now its about 4000 points after installing this one. And before i have maximum 125 fps in aq2 with DNA 4.7 and now i have something about 250 So GL. All my friends fill the difference too with that driver

OK I'll try this then. Hope it works

EDIT: I fixed it I can get like 140 FPS now D.
I just deleted everything from ATI and just reinstalled the shit also tried this driver but gave alot of errors . But it works now.
