Photoshop and the Quake2 Palette (pcx files)

Hey guys,

Quick question, has anyone got a photoshop compatible (*.ACT) quake2 palette file? The ones I'm finding are always off by a little thing. The cloest I've gotten is perfect colour, but the transparent colour was wrong.

How do you all make textures etc?

Also, is there some kind of plug-in that 'translates' every color to the color in the selected (q2) palette?

http://www.cix.co.uk/~miranda/utils/walplugin.zip

download and extract that, then pay particular attention to the q2.act palette file

then, straight from adu written by kami:
then go and change the colourspace to indexed colour.

select custom from the dropdown and load the q2 pallete (dl it here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/kchoy69/ ... les/q2.act )

then save it as a pcx.
if you're anything like me and dont know your way around photoshop, to save you the trouble go to image->mode->indexed color

from there the rest of kami's instructions are easy to follow. hope this helps either of you.. and my lack of skill at photoshop is holding me back from understanding the question properly :(

My photoshop skills are decent enough..

This shouldn't be a problem, but no PS on this pc so no way to test...

Thanks!

Maybe because you're from ADU?
