I want another sound for the m4 rifle. It's too annoying!

maybe a pak with nice sounds for all weapons would be nice..

See that button on the top of the screen saying SEARCH? Search for pak, then have a look around, if u still can't find anything, come back.

yeah i have searched for pak + sounds + weapons, but i only find about other pak stuff....

http://marlporo.pp.fi/aq2/paks/ which contains many paks with alternate sounds, there must be paks with a new sound for the m4 there as well. Please, next time, if u can't find anything with such a wide search, try narrowing it down, u might find links to other sites which DO have what you are looking for. Like I did.

A good one is the machinegun sound from regular quake2.
I've used it for years as a replacement for the original m4sound.. that i hate.. it's so "sharp" and ugly
machinegun sound = smoothie
and I'm pretty sure it doesnt give me an unfair advantage over other players, regarding the ability to hear things..

I ended up using the poropack2, which i then modified. The m4 sound is ripped from counterstrike and its better, but still not 100 % like i want it. I'll certainly tjeck out the machinegun sound from q2. I've also thought about just putting the m4 sound through an equalizer, and thereby cutting out some frequencies that annoys me.
Additional question: Does anyone know why my conback.jpg looks pixelated and in bad quality, when i replace the conback.jpg in the poropack? It looks fine in photoshop, but when viewed in quake, it sux...
(it's the same width and hight as the original conback) I've also tried to save it as .pcx, but with no luck.

Your client? NoCheat at least used to fux0r jpeg images. Try AprQ2 or some other image format (tga should work fine in NC). I still have a pcx image in my NoCheat :I
