i was wondering if any of you guys know any good, free icon-editor?

I had one a while back. But it disappeared like everything else does. I'll try to twist my mind and remember the name.

Back when I tried my hand at iconediting I tried microangelo... don't know if it exists anymore tho (or if it's any good :P)

I used microangole too for awhile. I think it's enough for my skills 8)

paint can view ico-files, and that's about it. gonna try microangelo now..

If you can view it, you can also 'paint' in it and save as .ico - if the size is 32x32 it wouldn't give a rats ass how u made it. Just try it.

photoshop can't save as *.ico as far as i know? is there some sort of ps-plugin that supports this?

You can always save it as .bmp and, while browsing for the icons, switch to display all files not just icon files. The bitmap will be resized automatically to 32x32 or whatever, so You don't even have to bother with that.

u can also dl irfanview, that prog can just convert pics to icons...

that prog is still around? i used it before acdsee came along. save as .ico in photoshop still beats everything, so i'll stick with that from now on.
