Where did aq2 "new generation" go?

I saw the topic and i think the textures was Great. But have the textures been published yet?

i believe a few select people have the textures, but they are not publicly available. i contacted the author of the textures a while ago, asking him for a copy so that i can include them in my then plans for a standalone client. we ended up getting into an argument about him replacing the 'clan" textures on the map. basically i told him it was disrespectful to remove the clan's texture on the map, as it is their mark of credit for their work on the map. he thought otherwise.

so anyway, it ended up getting pretty sour, and he decided to be selfish and keep it to himself.

lol u should watch his video. In it he obviouslly bots and wallhacks. He also did the alleyway with a hacked client that records demos asif your doing the jumps backwards.

Bitxs! I have textures that are the same or better then those! PM me if you know what the files are because i don't have any paks so it's a jungle out here! I'll send them to you slacker if you tell me files =P

Aztecx he's portuguese ffs... I don't know if he cheats or not, but i don't think so 8)

you must be one of the "select few" who he has decided to share with then.

whats your connection like? could you zip up your entire textures folder (or just the png/jpg/non-pcx files) and setup a private httpd/ftpd? from there i can mirror them onto my web server for everyone to download/use.

such great textures would be a shame to keep restricted to a few people. send me a priv message :D

ok, slacker ... no comments, i tell you that i wont give you the textures until theyr finished yet
if you cant understand that, its you problem! by the way i have put the originals clan textures back on it!
and yes slacker some friends of mine have that quake ! dont be jealous ! and the quake that preto have isn't mine, was you thinking in use my work on you project without

and to you preto, i think that i have prove you 1 year ago,(when u to call me cheater) in one LAN that i dont cheat, by doing the jump that you "Wanted" to on your pc , at the first time!

iam out of the scene for a few months now, but if i can make textures or programming like a prof. i will do that for AQ2!

so i think its the good work that WNT has done, only the problem is would he give it to the publics?

hey WnT :) surprised to see you're still around.

if you must know, im not making a standalone client anymore. it has turned out to be too complicated for me to do. i dont know enough about how quake2 works to do what i want.

by me asking for preto's textures, i can genuinely say that my intentions are to share it with everyone. its not for me :P

First of all when retexturing make sure you try to make the new textures look like the same as the original one only highres. Because some of those textures may have been made for a specific map where that texture fits, but for other maps that use that same texture it doesn't fit _at all_.

Anyhow, I really like the work you are doing.
I for one would like rewamped AQ2 textures. (Y)

Exactly nova.
One very importaint thing when making 32-bit textures is to keep as close to the original texture as possible. This is because alot of maps use the same textures but in different places. I.E. the texture on the top of the trees on teamjungle are grass textures and the the treetrunk is textured with a grass/dirt texture, so if somebody makes a leaf texture and a bark texture for the trunk it will look very nice at teamjungle but it will look really silly with leafs where there's supposed to be grass. I hope you all understand.

Making 32-bit textures isn't that hard for anyone with some basic photoshop knowledge. I'd do it myself (I've actually tried and made a few for personal use) but I'm not that good.

There are some textures out there already. Some are great and some could be improved. The best way to rextexture would be doing it map by map. just type texturelist (I think) in the console and then condump and you will have a list of all the textures that are used in the map. Then just look at the .wal textures and try and replicate then in high rez.

It would be highly appreciated if someone made the effort and whipped up some spiffy looking textures. The maps could use a texture makeover for a change :)

Let me know if you feel like doing the community a favor or if you just need help getting started and I'll try my best.
