Beach - [PREVIEW]

I recently found the radiant executable again and felt like start making another map :) Still very much a beta version; I consider most of the layout done, if it doesn't turn out that it plays really badly, all textures are not what and where I want them yet, and the lighting is only halfway there, but I just couldn't bring myself to NOT make a post about it, so here goes.

I had to, I just had to :mrgreen:

Great work NRGizeR! The map looks like it's on the right track. Good to see that the mappers are alive and kickin'!

I've also dusted off the ol' quark. So I wouldn't be surprised if there was some new maps around the corner :)

the thing about your maps is that i just know you've done em. i can "see" it :p

looks very good, hope to get to play this on a server when you're done :)

I hope that's a good thing :D

Thanks for the comments everyone :) I'm working on, and it shouldn't be toooooo long before I can start playtesting for real, already had the first dm fragfest trial today :)

That's because as you're loading the map, it says made by NRGizeR.

Nice with a w.i.p. post and great to have you back in some mapping action. Already at this point the map looks good. I like the environment map and the lightning suiting. I have browsed through the screens several times now and I already have some favorite areas. I want to playtest now!

Keep us posted mate. Bring on the screens!

Me and Flunx got a project to dust of, we just need the free time. :#:

omg. looks like many new maps are going to be released at the same time. Or with interval few days-1 wee. If wiz and flunks will finish what they started. I am finishing a new map also, and I was testing new pauhi's mpa yesterday which looks great.
Lets release everything at the same day??? Ok, I am joking :)

About your screens, lightning sucks yet(as you said). But dont you think about changing a sky? I could share some BD

What exactly is it that you don't like about the lighting? I said it's halfway done, not that it sucks :) Don't think I'll be changing the sky, I actually like it, and I've had several positive comments about it as well, so I think that the general opinion is that it suits the map.

Hmm... on another note, I would actually like to make the water non-transparent, since my r_speeds are getting quite high, but if I do, I have several HOM effects under water, I would estimate that there are three or four leaf nodes that get fucked up if I make the water non-transparent. Anyone seen this before? Anyone know how to fix it? My guess is that it's because of my many odd angles that I have under water (in all of the xyz planes...).
