What Quake2 client are you using, and why?

I was wondering what client is the most popular these days, where there is so many to choose from. I myself, use NoCheat 2.34 because I really want to get rid of the cheaters in AQ2, and I don't care much for fancy graphics. If I want some sweet looking game, I'll play some Enemy Territory instead.

im using nocheat 2.34 cause its the only anti cheat client out there that is up to date...

Im using beefquake when im watching demos and stuff and for my movie projects.

Clients as apr quake should die. Its a pure copy of ice(?), bq and some other stuff. It doesnt have any anti cheat code an stuff like that. But its really bad behavior to copy the export function from bq for example. He has been working on it for like years ? You should give him some credit for his work instead of copy it.

Anyways, the latest nc version it is for me atm.

I also voted for NoCheat 2.34.

The main reason for me to use another Quake2 client are the anti-cheat features. I haven't heard NoCheat is hacked yet, so I guess it will make it harder to cheat with. And for Apr Quake, no offence or anything, but I would never use a Quake2 client made by a clan... But thats probably just me ;)

I use Apr Quake2. It has some nice features like those winamp commands and map timer, so u don't have to type 'time' in console etc.. But in EAQL I'll use NoCheat (newest version ofcourse).

Apr Quake for me too, cause that winamp thingy is really useful so you don't have to put aq2 in a window to change the song.

NoCheat because of it's anti-cheat function.

I would have stayed with the old quake2.exe else. No need for fancy stuff like winamp and improved graphics. My FPS is bad enough as it is :)

nocheat.

it has all the features I need (like tga support and stuff) and of course I want to let the other players know that I'm not a cheater and I'm against cheaters :I

nocheat, though only for the nice features. It's easier to cheat with nocheat than witohut it.

Say what? NoCheat 2.34 is yet to be hacked, and seeing how the two main cheat developers both are working alongside NiceAss in the development of NoCheat, I doubt we'll see a public hack soon.

But yeah, it's easy to cheat while pretending to be using an older version of NoCheat, but that's just why you need to update.
