Aussie servers needs your help

Post by Mifferz »

Hey folks, I'm a rcon for the Aussie OGN aq2 servers.
203.206.95.1:27950
203.206.95.1:27955

Currently we're running TNG 2.81 on the servers, and there's two problems that we are facing. First we got voice spammers, is there anyway to restrict the amount of voices being played within a time frame? Secondly is the votemap bug exploit, where players can change the map when the map finishes.

It's a bitch, but we're hoping you fellas can help out.

Cheers

You should use maniac's version of TNG. Its much better. http://maniac.aq2world.com/tng/

Why not just disable the voices? i thought it was something like use_voice 0 ?

EDIT:

* Radio and Voice Flood Protection
To stop people spamming with the Radio and Voice command, there is flood protection for both in TNG.

Commands:
radio_repeat [#] - Number of the same radio/voice calls before being stopped. 0 is off.
radio_ban [#] - Number of seconds a player will be silenced for after spamming.
radio_time [#] - Time, in seconds, where a client may have a radio_max number of radio/voice calls in.
radio_max [#] - Number of radio/voice calls allowed with the radio_time period.

There's a chopper coming in 3 days and there's a katana on top of the cafe and that's all you need to know

Hey again. We been having problems with the maniac binary (don't ask what we been doing all this time, long story), it just crashes when running it. The server is ran on a linux box with q2admin and r1cH running as well. I ran it successfully on my winxp machine with the tngserverpak and maniac binary files. Is there anything missing?

You should compile it yourself on the linux box to make sure it's compiled for your libraries of your machine. Binaries for linux are problematic since you never know on what machine they were compiled and thus you don't know what prerequisites the compiler had.

In short: for Linux, compile it yourself with "make". Done.

It's similar with the other stuff as well.. r1q2, q2admin.
