bwcity2 - [NEW MAP]

Something from Beavisss, WizardExt and Kurupt.
You are in a city and it's night. The weather is cold, and so is the city. It isn't what it used to be. What was once an overall normal and peaceful place has turned into something the complete opposite. Gangs, drugs, abondoned houses and a police force no longer in control.
Most of you have already seen the
trailer, hopefully some of you are psyched about this release. Now it is available!
What makes bwcity2 unique are the amount of new graphics. Together with the new textures there are also a lot of work with the brush based details and also the sound. Just like the first
bwcity map, we started out thinking small, but as the project progressed the map extended.
The map doesn't really limit itself saying you must be atleast 8 players to enjoy the map. Just as any other map - it is what you make it. Bwcity2 might differ a bit, thanks to the amount routes available offering different scenarios - long view distances, close combat, speed... So there are many ways to suprise and attack the enemy.
The map is fast, jumpfriendly and good looking. What more is there to want?
We are all very proud about the result and hope you enjoy playing it.

I have been playing it with haui and some other players. We played 3on3, the map isnt that big so you will see an enemy very fast afer LCA. The textures are great if you play with everything on high etc. There are some nice details on the map like "beaviss sux" and "kurupt owns" arrr find the rest on ur own. The map could have used some more ambient sounds like from the ATM machines or some funky music when ur near the donut shop.
The only bad thing i could think of is the clipping, but i suppose you lot did that to prevent camping.
7 out of 10 emus because it has a donut!
EDIT: And why havent you used some better screens? these look like shit.

Exactly what den said so i wont type it all out again. but with extra emphasis on the clippings...there so many cool places you cant get into, the facility looking roof, and loads of other roof's.
6/10

must be a great place to sell donuts outside a police station. good buisness!
about sounds: i agree about sounds. even though we paid a lot attention to it, we could have looked into it even more. but then again it might have been too much.
about clipping: for the clipping part. this is always difficult. the map is at this point medium sized but still very fast. what would happen if we unlocked certain areas? the game would probably be slower and appear more static. it's not fun to lock things, but some areas are just meant to be eye-candy. and should we unlock everything? if not, where do we draw the line. if we unlocked the facility roof, wouldn't you want to enter the mountains then?
it's hard to make such decisions...hopefully you are "okey" with them. if not - sorry.

The map is nice and all, but 26mb? Uhm, it's still AQ2 guys..
I thought change was way too big with its 13mb, but 26.. I don't really care about such fancy textures, I like if it's nice and little eyecandy doesn't hurt, but I think it's just too much. Though it does look cool and apart from other eyecandy maps quite simple.
So far that's the only downside of it. Hope it pays off, guys

Are there really people out there that cares about this? I mean, if you don't use the textures, fine, don't. If you use 32-bit textures, you'd probably download them anyway, and on top of that you'd have to search for the yourself. Most, if not all (/me winks towards mr mario), of us has ADSL or better nowadays anyway... so a 26 mb download takes like 5 minutes anyway...
Enlighten me please
Oh, and about the map... Haven't tried it yet, will do when I get home

What about 10 such maps, or 20.. Wouldn't that make it a bit too big afterall? And to add hundreds of other AQ2 maps.
I mean, the aq2install file is 80mb big - phew eh?

And that's quite stupid to say, isn't it? If a price of a pack of cigs went 10 times up, wouldn't you have something to say?
