I don't think it is possible without modifying the inner code of aq2. That is some work for a small effort I guess. Talking 'bout effort...
My opinion: this is somewhat stupid. Go ahead and make ActionQuake2 more CounterShit-alike? What's next - turning down the speed? There's a reason we got those nice, long killmessages.

My question: what does that have to do with kill messages?
And no, it's not possible to change them. The kill messages are hardcoded into the server binary, so to change them you would first have to change the tng code, and then get every server to update their tng versions.

Since this thread is about making a part of ActionQuake2 more CS-alike (see author's post - his own words) I used this barb/overstatement to question the point of making our (in a positive way) old-fashioned kill messages turn into some ugly thing like this:

CS is a pretty slow game. Following?
AQ2 on the other hand isn't. (huh)
People like CS and want to implement some cool lolol stuff into AQ2. (angra wants that kill msgs in AQ2) Still there?
One such 'improvement' leads to another.
We end up having AQ2 too similar to CS. (could become FUCKING SLOW)

I only asked if it was possible, It would in no way effect action quake 2 as a game because as someone allready pointed out there is a hardcode into it which wont be altered. This was a part of it but if it wasn't, why not change it if you want to ?

Made Manic can do something in the next tng update, so you can change it if you want. This has nothing to do with the speed of the game or something else, just wanted a more readable killmsg. like some ppl want diffrent huds.
