Hello!

Rooms is a project which was started years ago by myself(Flunx) and ceno.
The project was to make a map which required the player to be smart, fast and skilled in Quake2 in order to reach the finish.
We got pretty far but abandoned it because we lacked motivation and probably had better things to do.
But now we've finally managed to finish it.

Hopefully you guys will have as much fun with it as we have had. And if people like it we might make some more.

The Rules:

Code: Select all

- Your goal is to find the exit and move on to the next room.

- It's a singleplayer map. Help from other players is not allowed.

- dmflags 200 (no leg damage) is allowed, but it's a bonus if you do it without using it.

- If you die. Restart the map.

- To get listed on the scores page complete Rooms then submit your score in the form of a demo and a screenshot of the clock at the end.

- Don't whine if you can't do it. It is hard.

- If you're #1 you might get a special treat!

- Changes might be done to the rules if bugs/glitches are discovered.

You can visit theRooms homepage for highscores or just grab the map and jump right into the action.

07:15 ;) really cool map, took me an hour or so to figure out. only made it throught once and ya. Really hate that labyrint and the chess thinige

Haha, nice, but too hard for me, or maybe I just didn't try enough. At those spinning pipes where you have to jump over lasers while spinning I lost my nerves, got jmod's dll and did that room. I got till the end - now I see z0's screenie that it's the end - but I don't have that timer texture :D
In fact, I'm missing quite some textures.

Damn! The hardest part by far is the chess room, it's fucking impossible almost. Seriously, even if you know where to walk :p but funny/interesting map! I finished with a score of 09.36 or something

wtf yo yo!? you don't have the vanilla quake2 textures? I guess I'll have to fix the zip then.

Lotsa people play these days from the standalone clients which dont have a lot of the standard q2 textures included to save space

cl_maptime "1" and viola you have time on the screen, cc
