We have some nice tournament activity going on with the HC-Cup and now with the already in progress Double Elimination Cup. So perhaps it's time to start another sequel of the Nations Cup and have the AQ2 playing countries compete against eachother again at the highest level possible. Personally I'd like to see how it would go & it might give some nice material for future AQ2 videos aswell.

I think Finland is more than ready for it, just like the always annoying Slovenian team. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria and Holland are probably good to go as well. All that is left are countries like Portugal, England etc.

Still enough 'fair' servers around to play on as well, so why not give it some effort again to keep this AQ2 stuff a lil bit more interesting?

i dont think its the teams that are the problem with a nation cup. Its the lack of people interested to do it. And believe me, i know how much admining sux by now

That competitive touch in AQ2 has gone wandering. Few years ago it was a pleasure to be a part of something like that, now tournaments and cups aren't even finished...

But the idea is still good, maybe Finland and Norway - or some other country too - could have two teams participating.
It's all up to players if they want to make it happen or just be passive as most of the times.

Ugh.. tell me about it. I was an admin for one of the Aq2w Leagues and not really prepared to do any more adminning stuff either.

Maybe it's possible to do some AQ2-turnaus setting. In every country they make one (or two) captain(s), and the captain(s) picks the squad. (If the captains can't be decided then that's the nation's problem and will be sorted out in another way perhaps.) After that the chosen squad will be selected and put on a website with the provided and additional information. If all is well and done, then we make groups and start the whole thing based on the usual match-rules.

Of course the selecting of players can cause a hassle, but that's for the captain and their 'nation' to arrange. I'm positive that everything can be taken care of within a certain time limit.

And like you said, interest is necessary for this thing to work out, so that must be awoken for this kind of thing. But that can be created by some advertising on IRC, just like I'm doing here on the AQ2world forum by showing a mere idea.

A nationscup league should not be dependant on me

I'll manage to get a portuguese team, so count Portugal in. We have good servers now to enter the contest as well as available admins
