I'm not saying that this person cheats. but this screenshot was taken from our last cw. when asked why he was using a modified client he said that it was his xhair.



Is it possible for an xhair to make nocheat say you are using a modified client or was it possibly a heat of the moment response to cover up his cheats?

in my opinion modified clients are the same as the hacks



if u wanna have another crosshair take a .pak file or summit...

Haha, nice one, ok here is the whole story.. I'm on vacation in canada, and I felt like playing aq2. I got to download aq2 from arild who has everything standard, but I didn't like the crosshair so I made my own one and put it as ch2.pcx. My config on the other hand said "set crosshair 1", and when I changed crosshair while connected on the server I was simply kicked for it being a modified crosshair, never happened to me before, but then again it was some lame uk server(I think). Thats it. If you belive I cheat, belive what you want, I don't care what people from the uk scene thinks.. I mean.. getting accused of wallhack because you can hear where the enemy is?.. that, you only get on uk servers..



edit: to be honest, the screenshot you put on the page is more modified than my aq2, so maybe the vote should be for you? Changing the laser sight to be able to see it better is kind of cheap don't you think?

Well as you can see my xhair is modified too. Don't see me getting kicked do u? And as for the laser, it doesn't make it easier to see, it's tiny. It just looks nice

I dont think you understood what I meant, I didnt get kicked for having a modified crosshair, but for changing to a modified crosshair, I don't know why it kicked me, maybe because I have the standard angle crosshair painted green, and nocheat detecting the size is the same, but different, or something, don't really know how nocheat or the server works so I'm just guessing, but as I said, you belive whatever you want, being hated by the uk scene isn't really a bad thing, maybe I don't have to play all those campingbased games anymore if you don't camp on lumber you camp on tj, or how is it?

you can change your crosshair all you like, it wont kick you.



modified client is a specific error, and it's exactly what it says on the tin.

ok, here is what I do know:



I downloaded the latest nocheat version from www.bryceinc.com

I connected to some uk server to spectate a clanwar

I changed to crosshair 2 and got kicked



edit: I went back to the server to check if Stim was right (I think it was the same server), tried changing crosshairs, and didn't get kicked, but that was what happened on the screenshot, I can't explain it, maybe the serveradmin can? maybe it wasn't even the crosshair change that got me kicked, but I was kicked the same second I changed.
