LAG!! FPS??

Hey.. I just recently bought a computer.. Intel Pentium Dual Core 2400+ or something - the Graphic card is a GS7600 and I'm running on Windows XP... My connection is 4000/512....
Anyway, the problem is in aq2.. with some maps the FPS drops very low, and it starts lagging - normally on open maps, but its SO annoying.... how could i change this? I tried turning v_sync on/off.. did some commands u can write in console, but something tells me its not enough?

actually i have a 3dfx voodoo 3 2000 pci (melted my geffo) and aq2 works at 100000000000 fps wout lags: i guess the problem isnt your pooter... so check the connection.

dunno, i read that 3dfx was acquired from nvidia, so i downloaded the lastest nvidia drivers and 3dfx ones were included
damn i melted mine geffo fx5900xt

when i run in window, it has no lags at all.. very smooth then!!

hmm, not sure if the omega drivers support geforce, but if they do.. download them.. the sole purpose of those drivers (afaik) is to assure that newers graphic cards work well with old games

omega?? what the fuck is that?? i know nvidia.. i have the org drivers directly from leadtek' page, since they are the manufactors.. but nvidia designed the whole damn thing, so maybe i should download and install those? whats omega?
