Why use a grenade when you can use a KNIFE?

I recall at least one grenade mod for AQ2. I believe Bryce/Niceass of nocheat fame made it.
I think at one time he had it on
http://bryceinc.com/ for download, but then again maybe it wasn't publicly distributed. Try to find the server again and find contact info for the server admin, ask him for a copy?

Hahah yeah, the knife variant was a blast.
Tell you what, maybe I'll get off my butt and finish that AQ2 client/server package I was 90% done with back in 2000 or so. It and the source code is in there.
Not that it'd be hard to make. And the sniper rifle, blah, horrid weapon when shooting a knife. I think there were some tweaks to make it so that you wouldn't overflow the server as much. But man, with 16 players all spamming shotguns full of knives, so many entities getting spawned and tracked, big pain.
But fun pain.

Oh, and I can't recall exactly, but either the windows binary for aq:knife shooters worked on WinNT but not Win9x, or the other way around. I think I got someone to make a proper compile for me a while back, but I can't recall.

So it works on Win9x but NOT on WinNT. WinNT = WinNT 4.0, Win2K, WinXP.
So that explains that.
Somewhere I have a fixed binary (the error was in the compiling, not the source code).
Though that guy tweaked the source a bit and made it available, I suppose someone can just compile that for win32.
