Problems getting sas/ skins to work

So. I finally got aq2 install in Linux. (Thank you hifi, and Maniac- helping me with this)
Everything works fine. Except I cant get sas/norse1 and sas/norse2 skins to work. In fact i cant get any sas skins to work. Only the icons of them.
Letters of folders and skins are ok
I've tried running as root.
I've downloaded that .pak file from anticheat.aq2world.com witch inclued models and skins.
I've downloaded model/skin .pak from marlporo's site.
Nothing seems to work. :(
Anybody has any ideas of what I can do?
Edit: I tried renaming the skins to .tga to see what the client did.
LoadTGA: Only 8, 15, 16, 24 and 32 bit Targas (with colormaps) supported. Image:(players/sas/norse1.tga).

This means that is it at least trying to find the skins.
