how can i get my aq2 to start in opengl mode and not in software?

what client do you use?

how can i see what client it is? i installed it with this one "aq2installv2.exe"
then i installed this one "aq2installv2patch1.exe"
dont know if this has anyone with your question to do (pretty noob as you can see)

You're fine off with the client you've downloaded mate.. if you want your client to start up in opengl, just add
set vid_ref "gl"
to your config.cfg or autoexec.cfg
set gl_mode X
then sets your resolution where X is a positive integer.. i.e. 8 is 1280x768.
