I have a dell notebook and Im with the latest supported drivers provided by dell.... my videocard is not the best, neither is the latest (x1300), so unless I dont have the latest videocard on the market I stick up with the drivers that work over the new ones, cuz u never know how they are going to affect the performance of old cards...

thats why. Makes sense to you now?

No - as long as your card is stated as being supported by the drivers, I see absolutely no reason not to update them (as long as it isn't beta drivers, because those could cause problems)..
