EAQL Merges With ESL Europe

Well some of you may heard about this, but now we can announce it.

The EAQL (European Action Quake League), will merge with ESL-Europe (Electronic Sports League Europe). Not really much will change for the clans, except that things like rules, news and signups, will be more clearly for everyone..

We're still setting this thing up, so there is no official link at esl-europe.net yet. Though somewhere in the next 2 upcoming weeks, everything will be finished and arranged.

The following cups will be availlabe for signups pretty soon:

1. Nations Cup

2. CTF Cup

3. EAQL Season 3

More details about that some other time.

Also the admin team will change due to the merge, ToMMics has joined up as one us, and some of us leaved. We will also announce more about this, when the signups are open.

So I know you're all waiting for the nations cup, and you had to wait a long time for it. But eventually it will come. Trust me.

Well, I've got nothing more to say for the moment, so when you've got a question or what so ever, you can always ask me in here.

What's nice about this news?

it's like (talking of aq2):

1st: EAQL was up, ESL was up

2nd: ESL was finished, EAQL was still up

3rd: ESL inactive, EAQL finished

4th: ESL inactive, EAQL inactive

5th: ESL active again, EAQL dead (thx to eaql-admins who were to lazy to reactivate a decent eaql-league with their own stuff again)

EAQL was sort of independent, now ESL i a big thingy (i like them, because i know some of them), but still, the idea of EAQL died - although EAQL had all scripts and things to make their own stuff (for aq2)

Now you can use the infrastructure of ESL for doing AQ2-leagues.. well ok, at least "something" is active again..

Give me some marketing speeches and perhaps then I will believe that this is a good and not just a "lazy" change.

Well, im not only admin from the eaql, where i adminned about 40 games in 2 seasons and at this moment im admin of the #naql, another aq2 league where im adminning much too, so i dont think im really lazy ;)

There were some admins who were lazy yer, i admit.. but now you say everybody is lazy, and thats absolutely not true..

I didn't participate in EAQL's first season but I was an admin (one of the most active *brag*) and a player in the second season and I think it went quite well, some fuss about rules and settings, but generally ok. don't really know what Haudrauf means with that "too lazy set up a decent league"

Haudrauf, who said EAQL is dead? The eaql will go on with the same admins and rules... Please do not make any suggestures when you're not up to date...

As I said more will follow somewhere in the next upcoming 2 weeks.

Then, Mr. Informationminister, tell me what someone is supposed to think about when it reads: "EAQL Merges With ESL Europe".

haui whats so bad about this? ESL got the best Onlineleague platform perhaps worldwide. We can use it in fully advantage. An we'll see, perhaps there will be some prizes ?!

Its just an "optimized" EAQL. i really dont see your trouble with it.

dont forget: its all about keeping AQ2 alive.
