radiogender female

Post by kaaos »

can somebody tell me how to get the female radio sounds work, i have the following lines in my config

set radiogender "female"

set gender "female"

but i can't get them to work, i have the right sounds in the right directories so that shouldn't be the problem - i often also hear other people using female sounds.

i'm not the only one with this problem, i saw one other fellow in #aq2suomi mentioning that he can't get them to work either.

ps. there should be a 'helpdesk' forum here since there are awful lot of questions in here.

radiogender female:

changes your radio voice. I don't see why it doesn't work to you. Have you tried typing it in your console after joining a server? Also check your config files for "radiogender". Maybe it's written several places.

gender female:

sets the gender.

this is a good idea. Bind the radiogender female with something else.

Code: Select all

bind TAB "inven;radiogender female"

Delete radiogender and gender from any config. Go into game and try to type gender female and radiogender female. It must work.

yay, it's working now! what i did was i deleted every line in every config that had "gender" in it from baseq2 and action folders. after that i added that don juan's alias into my config and now it's working. i'm pretty sure it was because of i had settings like gender_auto "1" and gender "none" and stuff in my baseq2 folder (but i hadn't set radiogender anywhere except my own config).

thank you fellow quakers.

Heh, why dont you just try :

bind X "radiogender female; radio enemyd; say_team Newb %K!"

bind Y "radiogender female; radio im_hit;say_team Argh %H!"

etc.... :D
