gah, gl_modulate isn't for making the skins brighter, that isn't necessary with current set of skins (ctf). High gl:modulate is used to take away the darkness of maps such as urban2, cloud etc.

gl_modulate sets a value for the brightness that is more than the map was intended to be used with, which imo is cheating. If a map is dark then it's supposed to be dark.



All communities seem to have different thresholds for where the gl_modulate setting becomes illegal, in Scandinavia it's 3, whereas in the rest of Europe it's around 5 right?

It's an implementation which takes a valid feature out of the game to give you an advantage over other players.



Dont know about you, but that's my definition of a cheat.

Same goes with Sniper Scripts then I guess ?



According to the code in aq2 you shoudnt be able to zoom backwards :p

Sniper scripts dont take any valid features out of the game, last I checked. Mine doesnt at least... changes sensitivity and zooms in.



Clearly you can see an obvious difference though.. one merely speeds up a process of commands through a bind, the other counteracts a feature in the game.



As to zooming backwards, I'm sure you could have picked out a better example. I don't feel particularly threatened by someone being able to zoom out.

Sure the commands are all there and probably for some very good reasons. But that doesn't mean you should exploit them.



It's like AQ2 Norms. Everybody knows that using wallhack is a cheat and an unfair advantage... I hope

I'm sorry, but what a dick.
That's probably one of the most encouraging things I've seen towards an atittude of cheating. M4script is an outright cheat.
Basically the above quote gives me the idea that he's saying "It's ok to use it as long as you dont get caught".. there should be no real justification as to using a script which deliberately takes a valid feature (recoil) out of the game. If you want a more accurate automatic, use the mp5.

You do not understand and cannot comprehend. If sniper scripts were banned on some servers, but allowed on others, it wouldn't be cheat on the allowed servers, but cheat on the banned servers. Same goes for m4scripts. It's cheat on servers where it's banned, not cheat on servers where it is allowed. Server administrators are the ones who decide what's cheat and what's not. If a server admin allows m4scripts on his server, its not a cheat. If you cannot grasp this, go away. Clients can whine all they want, but the server admin decides on his server. This is how it is.

Second zooming back can be viewed as zooming out many times in a row
for example zooming to 2x from 4x is the same as tapping weapon cmd 3 times. If making that into one command is cheating it can be argued that radiomessages with simultanious say commands are cheating as well. Defining a cheat is simple... And everyone knows what a cheat is...

I suggest you just wipe that post before more people reads your effort to make fun of me when in reality you're only making fun of yourself because you didn't understand crap of my post that involved sniper scripts as an example.
