Ever since I got back home (with the folks)
my high is quite high, about 10-20 higher than I remembered. If I run a map locally, it's says I have a ping of ~17ms, and other people I ask have 5-7. Is this normal, does this matter, can it be fixed?

depends on your pc, when i had some old pc years ago with software mode, bad settings (didnt know that it could be changed etc, noob!) i had like ping 25-30 on my on server, now im having about 10-15.. and with better gfx i would have around the 5.
