m_filter

Post by Flunx »

What do you use. m_filter 0 or 1?

I used to have 0, but after I bought mx510 and my sens got all weird I switched to 1. I like the smoothness, but what I don't like it when moving the mouse very slow. It doesn't react.

I have it set to 0.

m_filter
Type: Toggle
Default: 0
Description: Toggle the filtering of mouse input.
Note: If this toggle is enabled the game will take the average value between two consecutive numbers produced by the mouse input and use that value as the movement value. Enabling this variable will cause the mouse movement to be smoother but there will be increased latency between the actual mouse movement and movement in the game.

I use 0, it feels just so much faster and accurate, and that it is too.

The point is making the mousemovement smoother. But it seems like people are having quite different results.

m_filter 1 is the setting I use. I have no lag with it. I find it hard to even imagine playing with 0, it's so unsmooth with it.

It's interesting that people have so different results and tastes concerning this setting... I find it impossible to play with m_filter 0. :)

I usually have "enable smoother mouse movement" option enabled in all fps games I play. Maybe it's just something people get used to.

I don't see any mouse input lag with smoothing and those not using it probably don't notice how unsmooth the movement is without that. :)

Well I found out that I have set it to 1, but I've never changed this setting so I'll just leave it :D
