We had quite a good time playing Splinter cell Pandora tomorrow MP (demo), although it only supports 4 players at a time and has a bit high hardware specifications.
Oh and Call of Duty is waaaay better than MoHAA (; .

Tell me more about the LAN
EDIT: About the games, not all participants on the average LAN can appreciate (true/hack'n'slash) RPG's, but if everyone likes them, you should go for it. Endless fun. Other than that, RTS games seem a real winner - I haven't tried Rome: Total War yet, but seems like fun to try a new, truly massive game of this genre.

Action Unreal Tournament - finally some good graphix that can lure the newbish "omg-aq2-is-so-ugly"-guys into the world of action
A good discussion is like a miniskirt; long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to pertain interest
