Okay small report, the competition now has a channel on QuakeNet: #nMMC. If ur part of the panel or one of the competitors, please idle in there, and ask one of the moderators or myself to flag u.
So far I've seen screenshots from 2 maps and played a beta version of one of them, that's not alot. Where are you guys? It's really in your best interest to help us help you sooner rather than later. It's not just for finding bugs - splinter and myself made some gameplay suggestions as well, and although they were quite minor, I think they will help make it a better map.
Gore Vidal: "To succeed is not enough. Others must fail."
Good! Because my map focuses more on the good old gameplay that seems to be missing in many maps :-)
I will make (atleast try) my map enjoyable to play, not look at. It doesn't mean it will be ugly. Just that I will skip the eyecandy and try and maintain as low r_speeds as possible
Yeah I hope that the panel respects low r_speeds. I also am ofcourse trying to get low r_speeds without forgetting the look of the map At the moment it's looking good. But it's no wonder because about half of the map is yet done.
I hope every competetor in this competition can make a map that will be played in about 5 years and everyone still likes the map. Then I think u build a good map or am I wrong??
oh thnx for the nice answer why am I wrong then? can you explain that??
I got the idea when maps are being played for a long time the mapmaker itself did some good work
I have a 1ghz computer with a Geforce 2 MX 3D card. I don't consider that as a super computer
As long as a map has under 2000 r_speeds it is playable nowdays imho.
But just so you know my map has under 1000 atm
...though it ain't finished.
