Old school aq2

Post by Looter »

I was courious is anybody by some extreamely rare chance had and older version of aq2 like a beta or any older release for that matter. i am very intereasted to see what it was like in the development stage. i ask this because i have played ahl and speicalists for hl and the versions that are out now are trash but beta4 for ahl was good and speicalists 1.5 was good even though they where older. dont think aq2 was like that but im still interested.

Well, if you had checked out the official hp of action quake 2, you might've noticed they still have the 1.0c client up for download. And that's quite old by these days standard.

Can't help you with any older versions tho.

I have early beta on cd somewhere... if I find it I'll post a link. It has/had following features:

- unstick -command just to get to roof of urban1's highest building
- m4 that does not fire to crosshair, but slightly to the left (about 5 mm)
- ssg which is inaccurate
- slippers which cause you run smoothly even with legdamage
- grenades with adjustable time-to-explode (no range adjustment)
- etc I do not remember right now

Cool Phantaxus. Could you upload it somewhere?

hehe, what i remember best about BETA og Alpha AQ, when I started playing it, was that there was no m4, and you could use silencer and lasersight on M3..

and another difference from AQ2 to AQ2:TNG is that the granade makes 120% dammage in TNG, instead of 100..

but sorry, I deleted my old AQ, and don't know where to get it.. :/

would be cool to try it out again :)
