Need Client with no lag

My Client lags, so i use q2e but it isnt allowed everywere, just on the finnish servers, q2e is a port for q3. But i need a ordinary client with no lag.
Anyone know i client then please write back :<.
Some problems: big areas lags, headshots in clanwars lags

Q2e = Quake 2 Evolved a heavily modified Q2 Engine so thats the client i use
System Specs: AMD Xp + 2600, 64 mb ram graphics , 512x2 Mb Ram

and yes i have tried r1q2 and apr, but those lags even more

This is one thing thats weird: if i play older games, it lags, but if i play q3 it doenst, so q2 lags and q3 doesnt, weird?

Could be your driver, new drivers lack support for old graphic engines. Although I have no idea which to use in any case, ATI or NVidia. In my case old drivers work good, new ones suck and a beta I'm using works just perfect, with new and old games. Contact me if you are interested.

well i use a on-board graphic card. but still q2 wouldnt lag, its 64 mb like 100000000000000000000 times over the recommended

Q2 is like the pickiest game in history... Especially in linux, but it's quite picky in windows as well. I always use q2 as my testing game, because I know that if q2 works as it should, everything will.

I mean, what other game can change it's physics depending on what driver you're using

) you just have to stumble across the right setup for your computer, and then everything will work as a dream, until you change something

Well, i have configed it to the lowest in all settings, but the thing is,:
When im in big areas, the sky lags, and when i make for example a headhit with the ssg , the whole shit drops to 20 fps for about 5 seconds, and then up again. Tried several clients, and Q2E(Quake 2 Evolved) works
best, it has a higher frame rate and lags only in a few times. but only the finnish server has a very slow spamkick activation, so i dont get kicked from the finnish, but the rest of them. And then i mean my own country(swe),dk,de,nl and so on.

Try the original Q2, if that lags you it's your drivers. And in all these new clients and standalones there are tons and tons of settings and tweaks, find the right one and you're home free. But tbh I bet it's your drivers.

you might be missing the head gib, since it lags. if all "normal" clients lag, then it's not to do with them.
