I guess you wouldn't have had this problem since you use an english keyboard anyway (I guess ) it's just that q2 isn't keyboard layout aware... it uses an english keyboard layout for all keyboards, which means that we that have nordic keyboard layouts have all sorts of special buttons in the "wrong" places, one of which is tilde (q2 thinks that this button is located where we actually have ½ and § )Clown wrote:Tilde is "~" even in Quake 2. i have ita keyboard and quake2 layout is totally different from mine.
but after years of aq2 "i can see the code without decrypting"

btw if im not wrong, "tilde" key is one that allows you to show console, and is at the bottom of esc and up of tab
