tAmBo0n had the same problem and if i remember right when he did the same thing.
Dl'd quake2 from some1 (was it KaFFeLi i think) and had the same problem. When he started shooting, enormous lag appeared and useally he could not move at all.
/msg tAmBo0n and ask him what he did to solve the problem. IF I remember right he just took aq2 normally from marsmodule or he reformat his com or something.
Anyways ask him, I think he remembers it abit better
