I've made this cross platform Action Quake2 launcher (so far tested on windows xp and ubuntu linux). I find it handy, so I tought some of you guys might feel the same.
Here's a screenie, just to let you know what kind of thing I'm talking about:
Yup, it's a cool thing for sure. Got it for some time now, though used it only a couple of times - habbit to click on the exe shortcut
It's good for those who record a lot and usually forget to store/rename the 'good' demos.
It's original purpose was to switch between 3 most used q2 clients with an option to autorecord demos and most of all, a pop up window, displaying recently recorded demos - that is since the start of the program - so you can delete the unwanted ones and rename the rest, without having to click your way all the way to action/demos dir every time. the same goes for the screenshots.
I find this the most useful thing and not realy something that a simple script can do.
It's also one of the alternatives to having shortcuts for every q2 client you want to use.
Mostly I play with Apr but sometimes with R1Q2 because it just feels better to play with AND when watching demos I use Q2Pro. Need to know why? RTFM. 1 Icon or just one shortcut to a Launcher is what i need. Before I made smaller and simplier launcher for myself ( autohotkey ) but now I use this one. I record every public/cw game and after I use demo managing tab to rename demos so I know later what can i find in that demo, lets say freaking HS? awesome jump KILL, ROFL TK, everything special. No need to run expolorer etc... So, I like it a lot, work on both machines, win32 & Linux perfect.
