Here is something you guys might not of expected to see anytime soon...
Surprisingly I did a lot of work and never released it the past year, so I have quite a few updates that will surely enhance the previous versions. I got a lot of feedback from the last version, and hopefully these fixes will help new players get cleaner installs and old players get smoother play.

Upgraded binaries to APR 1.20
Edited config files to display best graphics and interface
(did not include system related configurations that APR will include based on your system - this was a problem in older versions with different graphic cards. Now when you run Axion for the first time it is like doing a clean install. Simply edit your settings from the in game menu (esc key.)

Fixed sounds in deepcanyon
Fixed Grenade explosion sounds
Cleaned up the pak architecture
Included a new console image

Updated skyboxes to high-resolution TGAs (never done before.)
Retextured and revamped some old maps specifically Passin'
added 2 new maps spring and icity

Things to come:
Retextured map "other"
Finish beer textures
Add more hi-def skyboxes
Include 32bit player skins
Enhance current weapon skins *

Ok cool but few things
- in autoexec.cfg in baseq2 directory should be line "game action" so you can start aq2.exe in directory
- how does ref_soft.dll ref_gl.dll and 3dfxgl.dll affects Apr 1.20 ? :o none
- why there is no anticheat.dll in the package?
- you could simply make cvar axionversion "2.0"

I liked it... except for one thing: the scope,, its uglybugly :tsk:

+plenty of maps
+reasonable filesize for the amount of content
+nice conback

-poor default configs (eg. "use quad damage", drop weapon bound to capital z, 32bit textures aren't enabled by default and...).
-no conback.pcx
-playermodels and skins are inside paks
-no kevlar helmet
-various other little tidbits that are missing (idle sounds for example)

"set developer 1" is your friend
