Music CD's recording badly to the computer?

Whenever I buy a music CD, and I want to load the tracks to my computer i record them in Media Player, but the sound turns out to be DREADFULL.
Ideas?

Tools -> Options -> Rip Music....check the bitrate, 128 is fine 256 is better, could also be a hardware issue.

UNPLUG ANY ANALOGUE PLUGS FROM YOUR CD DRIVE TO THE MOTHER BOARD. IT SHOULD ALL GO DIGITALLY VIA THE IDE CABLE

AND CAPS LOCK IS ON....
