Aprq2 1.21 Hook Problem

Hi, I am q2 InstaDM and InstaCTF player of Chile.

The hook of apr1.20 with apr1.21 are different, or is slowly feeling, strange filter or I do not know…
It is assumed that the hook is set from the server... but in the same server is diferent betwen two versions.... I invite you to try at some server and compare.

One of the problems is that: Try launching the hook at distance, it will disappear after a few seconds, It´s very uncomfortable for older players in mods of quake2 with hook (no grapple).

Any solution?
Could this may be related to the cl_async feature?

Anybody know where I can contact to maniac, he is hosted here so I figured this is the best place to post this issue..

I tried q2 hook and didnt notice any difference. You could try disable the async mode if that helps. Cant see what could cause this, q2 hook is server side.

The async mode is disable in my config.cfg, and does not change anything

Now i see what you mean, this isnt the normal q2 crapling hook, this is some new hook using it as a beam. Well, i could try to fix it but seem like every server needs the anticheat and cant find download for the mod to use it in local host.

What Gore says is true
I'm also a player of Instagib DM in Chile and the hook seems to be very strange.. is seems to be the same as R1Q2 Hook (notice that is the beam with no grapple)
I also have the async mode disable in my config and nothing seems to be happen
Maybe you can do something to fix this...
As Gore! says its feels slower and very strange

We'll be pleased if you can do something about this

Give me a server ip which doesnt need anticheat or a link to the mod.

Hi maniac, im gammaray staff of quake2 in Chile.

Here you can find a server with AC optional so if you want test the problem with the hook:

200.104.255.82:28104

also remember its instactf, so you need the ctf folder in your quake 2 folder.

also we are using the matchmod 6.0 for linux, if helps here is the .so file. the source isnt release.

Its weird, can be the mod? but how i dont make any change in it.

if you can fix this, the idea is use the hook of the aprq2 1.20 but with the new features of the aprq2.121 such the cl_asyn and the protocol 35.

also try in the server using the aprq2 1.20 hook and then the 1.21 hook to see what the players are saying.

nooo!! the only reason that use aprq2 is the fast hook, now the version 1.21 the hook is slow, please fix the code, very people use aprq2 for:

aprq2 1.20

fast hook

nice sensitivity
nice colors in 32bits mode

aprq2 1.21

slow hook sensation same r1q2

nice sensitivity

nice colors and nice water caustics

please fix the code of hook 1.21 to 1.20 lots of players need the hook fast, i say the old hook for old school players

Who the hell are you, weird elves? What the fuck is this hook shit? Client works more than well for AQ2, so I don't see why you would come to this forum and have a go at Maniac and demand changes.
