I record with fraps. and then i make the movie in "Adobe Premiere 6.5" after that i compress the video with Dr.DivX. so 231MB goes 12.6 MB :) there is a bunch of nice effects in premiere. But you have to know how to do them :P

Im using Beefquake with FRAPS. exporting them to raw avi. editing them in premiere and compressing them there instead

Fraps -> Adobe Premiere Pro -> VirtualDub

By the way, you really need a fast machine and a lot of memory if you want to edit your video with Premiere Pro.

And remember, the bigger resolution you have the bigger AVI you get. I prefer 640x480 with maximum AntiAliasing :)

Thats how the professionals do it. Premiere Pro can be replaced with Vegas, it has about the same features as premiere and is usable even with p2 machine. Dont forget to use aniiso filter among the antialiasing :)
