Radeon 9800 pro (again)

Post by Hawk »

I see several threads about the subject, but in case something happened just recently or so I'm asking again, this is my story:

I've recently aquired a radeon 9800 pro cards, and directly after installing I belive the latest catalyst drivers, I'm having around 900fps, but after not doing anything I can remember, I suddenly have 85-450 fps, and very unstable, can't snipe or strafejump for example or the fps drops below reasonable numbers, I've tried a bunch of different drivers, both omega and catalyst and nothing seems to make any difference, though while trying 3 I'm getting around 300-400 fps with com_maxfps 400

help :P
inter-net is good, that means inter-great should be even better

The only drivers that play AQ2 well for ATI are the Catalysts 4.7 ones. The others need config tweaking and driver settings activated and stuff. If you insist on using the newest ones try this
- enable Triple Buffering
- V-Sync ALWAYS OFF
- set gl_swapinterval "0" in your autoexec.cfg

Tell me if any of this works.
I don't give a shit.
